Mokokchung | 11 October: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Mokokchung joined the nationwide celebration of the PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission at its Conference Hall on 11th October 2025.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Sarenedi Walling, ACTO (Animal Science), followed by the keynote address of Dr. Keviletsu Khate, Senior Scientist and Head, who highlighted the modalities of the schemes and the programmes under them.
He emphasized, “36 different schemes have been merged under PMDDKY, which will make farming sustainable, increase production, and provide cold storage in all villages.” The scheme will be implemented in phases, with the first phase spanning six years. Officials from Agriculture, Horticulture, Soil Conservation, Animal Husbandry, and Veterinary departments attended, and short speeches were delivered by department representatives.
The programme included a live webcast of the national launch and over 1,100 project inaugurations. Vote of thanks was delivered by Khekali Sema, ACTO Horticulture, with 81 farmers participating.
