Mokokchung, April 27 (MTNews): Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mokokchung organized Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari Campaign on 26th April 2022 at the Kendra’s premises as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The program started with sharing on overview of the program by Senior Scientist & Head KVK, Mokokchung followed by telecasting of the program in New Delhi. This was followed by sharing on the activities and achievement under various flagship schemes of Govt. of India by Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Soil and ATMA, Mokokchung.
Some of the important schemes discussed during the session included Organic and Natural farming, Mission on Integrated Development of Horticulture, Soil Testing and Soil Health Cards, NMSA, NAFCC, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, National Beekeeping and Honey Mission, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana, PM Kisan, Kisan Credit Card, Care and management of cocoons etc.
There was also a Farmers Scientist interaction where several queries of farmers were promptly answered by the officials from Agri and Allied departments. During the technical session, Bio-fortified crops with special reference to millets and Agromet Advisory Services were delivered to the participating farmers.
Further, a mela was organized wherein promising location specific technologies, seeds, bioproducts, agriculture tools and implements were demonstrated to the farmers. Altogether 72 farmers and 30 Govt. officials attended the program.
