Mokokchung, October 17 (MTNews): KVK Mokokchung organized a program at its conference hall on October 17 coinciding with the ‘PM Kisan Samman Sammelan’ which was jointly organized by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in New Delhi.
Special Guest of the function, Tiayanger Jamir, President, Kisan Morcha BJP Mokokchung during his address encouraged the participating farmers to avail and make the best use of the development and livelihood improvement program of the government.
He emphasized on the benefits of the PM Kisan scheme and requested all eligible farmers of the district to approach concerned financial institutions and other departments for registration at an early date.
Tiamenla, General Secretary, Kisan Morcha BJP Mokokchung and T. Bendangyanger Jamir, Convenor, Intellectual Cell, BJP Mokokchung also exhorted the gathering.
The program was chaired by Martha Chakruno ACTO; welcome address by Dr. Keviletsu Khate Senior Scientist & Head and Moainla Longkumer, Technical Officer, KVK Mokokchung delivered the vote of thanks.
The program was followed by Webcasting of the Sammelan at New Delhi where Prime Minister of India released Rs. 16,000 crore as the 12th installment under PM Kisan and inaugurated ‘One Nation One Fertilizer’, 600 PM Kisan Samruddhi Kendras and also released Indian Edge, an e-magazine on fertilizers.
It may be mentioned that eleven farmers from Nagaland representing the eleven KVK districts participated in the Sammelan.
The program ended with a technical session where production and management of chickens in the backyard and awareness on Swachhta and Jal Shakti Abhiyan were imparted to the participants.
Altogether 72 participants comprising farmers, KVK Officials and public leaders attended the program.
