A five-day on-campus training programme on natural farming for Community Resource Persons was conducted from January 27 to January 31, 2026, at Tuensang in Nagaland. The programme was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Tuensang and sponsored by MANAGE, Hyderabad, and SAMATI, Nagaland. It aimed to strengthen the capacity of Community Resource Persons to promote sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices among farmers in Tuensang, Shamator, and Noklak districts.

A total of 20 Community Resource Persons from the three districts participated in the training.

During the programme, experts and resource persons delivered lectures and conducted sessions on various aspects of natural farming. They emphasised the need to reduce dependence on chemical inputs and adopt environmentally friendly farming methods. Key topics covered included soil health management, preparation and use of organic inputs, composting techniques, crop diversification, beekeeping, natural methods of pest and disease management, and sustainable farming practices.

Officials stated that the training was part of ongoing efforts to promote natural farming and sustainable agriculture in Nagaland. They expressed confidence that the trained Community Resource Persons would play a key role in sharing the knowledge gained with farmers in their respective villages. Participants appreciated the comprehensive sessions and interactive learning environment.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session during which certificates were distributed to the participants. The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to conducting similar capacity-building programmes in the future for the benefit of farming communities.
