The launching programme for the construction of an RCC bridge along the Dikhu River on the Longleng – Chuchuyimlang – Mokokchung road was held on 8th November 2024 at the bridge site in Mongtikang village, Longleng. The event was attended by MLAs Nuklutoshi and A. Pongshi Phom.

In his address, MLA Nuklutoshi encouraged the gathering to focus on development rather than differences between communities or political parties. He emphasized the importance of working together for progress. He also praised MLA Pongshi, stating that the people of Longleng are fortunate to have a leader who loves and works diligently for them. Nuklutoshi assured the public that two hydro projects would be completed, council roads cleared, and unemployment issues addressed during their tenure, with more job opportunities created. He added that once the project is completed, the site will become a tourist attraction, generating revenue and boosting local businesses.

MLA A. Pongshi expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for making the event possible. He credited the successful implementation of the project to the cooperation of Nuklutoshi, who provided support, ideas, and logistics. Pongshi also thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for trusting in the project and approving it. He highlighted the importance of road connectivity and proper bridges for any developmental work and urged the community to be patient during the construction period and to assist when needed.

Short speeches were delivered by President Langpangkong Tsukong Mongtang, N. Watitoshi; President PPC, Y.B. Angam Phom; EE PWD (R&B) Longleng, S. Toshi Angh; Pukyung Phom, P/Leader; and the chairmen of the village councils of Chuchuyimlang, Hukphang, Salulamang, and Mongtikang.

Earlier, the welcome address was given by the chairman of the village council of Pongching, with an invocation by Pastor Namching Baptist Church. The programme was chaired by Pangshom Phom.
