The Women Cell of MGM College, Dimapur, organised an awareness programme on October 27 on the theme “Empowering Women with Legal Awareness.” The event was led by Temjenzungla Aier, Assistant Professor of History, and Sungjemlila Jamir, Assistant Professor of Political Science. Advocate Nishela Assumi, Panel Lawyer, DDLSA, served as the resource person and highlighted various rights and legal provisions for women under the Indian Constitution.
She explained the Victim Compensation Scheme, which offers financial assistance to crime victims. The session, chaired by Tianhanla of B.A. 5th Semester, began with a welcome address by Dr. Vili Kibami and concluded with a vote of thanks by Aier. The programme aimed to promote legal literacy and gender equality.
