Dimapur, 10 December (MTNews): A colourful and resplendent program marked the occasion of the annual event of the Stonite Boarders Advent Christmas and Thanksgiving Day which was celebrated at Livingstone Foundation International Hostel, Dimapur on the 9 December 2023.

The event which was held at the LFI Auditorium was graced by the Chairman, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema and the Director, Mrs Ani Yepthomi. Delivering the Thanksgiving Message to the gathering of boarders as well as mentors and staff members of the school, the Chairman remarked that LFI has always been the forerunner of educational innovations including co-curricular activities as envisaged under the National Education Policy 2020 which seeks to bring about a phenomenal transformation in the field of skill development and all round education for the students. Speaking on the side lines of thanksgiving, he underscored the importance of being grateful for everything including those unseen blessings that God has provided in the lives of each and every one. He called upon the students to be thankful to everyone who has been elemental in their overall growth and upbringing including their parents, guardians, mentors and even the custodians in school.

Earlier, the programme began with the toasting and cutting of cake by the Chairman and Director which was followed by the invocation by Ms Sushikala Jamir of Grade-XII Science. The other entertaining highlights of the event included Christmas Mash-Up Songs by girls from Bethany Dormitory, Spicy Corn Salad by Rachel Dormitory, a solo dance performance by Master Aditya of Nazareth Dormitory, Group Songs by Grade-XI boys of Eden Dormitory and by Nazareth Dormitory, Chapri Band 2 Christmas Edition by the Rachelites, Group Dance by Grade-XII boys of Eden Dormitory and a Band Performance by Eden Dormitory. The event came to a solemn close with the benediction by the LFI Chaplain, Ms Zhimoholi S Zhimomi which was followed by the Thanksgiving Dinner.
