Dimapur, 23 February (MTNews): Two students from Livingstone Foundation International (LFI), Master Ayush Gupta of Grade-VII and Master Parthiv Deb of Grade-IX, have been granted the Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana Philately Scholarship by the Department of Posts, Government of India. They were handed over the scholarships by Mr L Imtikumzuk, Marketing Executive, Nagaland Division, Department of Posts during the school morning assembly on 23 February in presence of their parents, students and mentors.
The two students were selected through a selection process for this Scholarship Scheme which included two levels – a Philately Written Quiz and Philately Projects which were submitted by the students to the Directorate of Posts. It may be mentioned that the Philately Written Quiz was earlier conducted at the LFI Campus itself on 30 September 2023 wherein more than 100 students had participated.
The Department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications, Government of India launched the Philately Scholarship Scheme named the Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana (Scholarship for Promotion of Aptitude & Research in Stamps as a Hobby) on 3 November 2017 for generating interest regarding philately amongst the students.
