The Christian Education Ministry of Marepkong Baptist Arogo successfully organized a two-day Life Skill Development program on October 1 and 2, 2025. The program was designed for children aged 9 to 15 years and aimed to equip them with practical skills to prepare for the future.
The training focused on addressing unemployment and limited job opportunities, helping children earn pocket money and reduce over-dependence on parents, promoting self-reliance and independence at an early age, encouraging self-employment through creative skills, and building awareness of the importance of life skills for personal and professional growth.
During the program, participants received hands-on training in accessories making, crochet, wooden artifacts, and sewing. The initiative was led by Christian Education Director Imnaienla, with instructors drawn from Christian educators and two church members. A total of 82 children participated, guided by 15 teachers throughout the sessions.
The workshop was marked as a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the participants. Children not only acquired new skills but also developed confidence, fostering independence and creativity in their daily lives. The ministry emphasized the importance of such initiatives in preparing young members of the community for future opportunities and self-sufficiency.
