According to folklore, Lijaba – the creator of earth in Ao Naga mythology – once came to the village of Akhoya. It is said that two sisters, Nüngjangsangla and Alala gave shelter to Lijaba and he blessed them with a bountiful harvest in return. The monument seen here is called ‘Tsüngrem sabang’ or ‘God’s platform’, the place where Lijaba rested.
