5 Tribes CORRP rejects Nagaland Cabinet’s 7-member Job Reservation Review Commission
The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) has dismissed the outcome of the State Cabinet meeting on 6 August on BT Reservation issue, terming it “a repetition of their 12th June 2025 meeting.”
The 5 Tribes CoRRP stated in a press release on Thursday that the State Cabinet has chosen to ignore their “core demands” and has rather went ahead with the composition of the Reservation Review Commission which includes CSOs in the form of CNTC, ENPO and TUN.
“The partisan attitude of the Government Spokesperson in justifying 48 years of indefinite reservation policy and throwing up wild imaginary figures in government employment as well as interlinking Reservation Review Commission outcome with next census while briefing the media has only added insult to our movement,” the 5 Tribes CoRRP stated.
The 5 Tribes CoRRP also announced that it will be having a joint sitting with the 5 apex tribal bodies and decide the next course of action.

It may be mentioned that the Nagaland State Cabinet has on 6 August approved the constitution of a seven-member Job Reservation Review Commission that will be tasked with reviewing and addressing matters related to job reservations in the state.
According to an official release, the Commission will be headed by a person of “integrity and administrative experience” from among retired senior IAS officers of the Nagaland cadre.
The composition of the Commission will include:
One member each to be nominated by the three major tribal apex bodies: Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), and Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN).
Three official members from Administrative Head of the Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department; Home Commissioner; and Administrative Head of the Law & Justice Department.
The respective tribal apex bodies – ENPO, CNTC, and TUN – have been requested to nominate credible and qualified individuals to represent their respective communities as Members of the Commission. It informed that the nominations are to be communicated to the Government at the earliest for necessary action.
The decision to form the Commission comes amid ongoing discussions around the fairness and structure of the current job reservation system in Nagaland, which has drawn differing views from various tribal groups and stakeholders.
