Preparations are underway in Lirmen village, Mokokchung district, to host the 78th Japukong Kaketshir Mungdang (JKM) General Conference, scheduled to be held from January 8 to 10, 2025.

The conference will be held under the theme “Ajungjen Lima Tasen” (A Whole New World) with S Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha as the chief guest, who will grace the conference on 9 January.

The inaugural program on 8 January evening will feature Bashangmongba Chang, Minister of Housing and Mechanical Engineering, Government of Nagaland, as the special guest. The program will be chaired by JKM officials.

The lineup for the inaugural event includes Rev A Mar Pongen, Pastor of Lirmen Baptist Arogo, delivering the invocation. JKM Information and Publicity Secretary, Temjenliba Aier, will provide key updates, while B Kumzuk Longchar, Chairman of the Lirmen Village Council (LVC), will share his insights on the significance of the conference. A special number will be presented by the Nokpu Kaketshir Telongjem (NKT).

Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, Minister of Higher Education and Tourism will address the gathering as the chief host of the 78th JKM conference. An exhortation will be delivered by Imdong Jamir, President of Japukong Senso Senden (JSS). The children’s choir will also perform a special song titled “Kü Meim Japukong.”

Dr Benjongkumba, Principal, Model College, Mangkolemba; Sentilong NPS, Deputy Commandant, 7th NAP Bn Bhandari; and Er Chuba Longkumer, Executive Engineer, PWD Housing, Tuensang Division, Nagaland are the other special guests of the conference. Dr Walunir, Principal of St John Higher Secondary residential School, Dimapur is the theme speaker.
