Dimapur, December 9 (MTNews): The Annual Day Function of Livingstone Foundation International was organized with a rare fervor of music, color, excitement and entertaining extravaganza at the school’s Green Lawn on December 8. The program which began at 3:00 PM was attended by an overwhelming audience of parents, guardians, well-wishers and special invitees along with the management, mentors, staff members and students of the school.
During his special message to the gathering on the august occasion, the Chairman of LFI, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema underscored the importance of skill development in the students apart from academics. He called upon the parents and guardians to shift their focus from the traditional education emphasizing on rote memory to a more vibrant and diverse skill based education system and holistic and conceptualized education system whereby students can shine not only in their studies but also can develop their career in other areas like sports, music, fine arts, crafts, etc., which will provide them more lucrative employment opportunities in the future. He was talking on the sidelines of the ongoing Soccer World Cup wherein players were earning to the tune of millions of dollars for one single match due to their exceptional football skills.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering, the Director of LFI, Ani Yepthomi expressed immense joy and satisfaction on being able to conduct the Annual Day event after a gap of almost two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown.
