Lok Sabha Elections: ECI announces polls dates; Nagaland to vote on 19 April

The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the schedule for conduct of general elections to the Lok Sabha, 2024 from the lone Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency. The schedule for the elections is as follows:-.

1. Announcement & issue of Press Note        : 16/03/2024 (Saturday)
2. Date of issue of Gazette Notification         : 20/03/2024 (Wednesday)
3. Last date for filing Nominations                : 27/03/2024 (Wednesday)
4. Date for Scrutiny of Nominations              : 28/03/2024 (Thursday)
5. Last date for withdrawal of Candidatures            : 30/03/2024 (Saturday)
6. Date of Poll                                                : 19/04/2024 (Friday)
7. Date of Counting of Votes                         : 04/06/2024 (Tuesday)
8. Date before which the election shall be completed: 06/06/2024 (Thursday)

Consequent on the announcement of the schedule for the General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2024, the Model Code of Conduct comes into operation with immediate effect from 16 March 2024 and will be in force till the completion of the elections.
