Longleng, 5 July (MTNews): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Longleng district has issued a travel advisory due to the occurrence of severe weather conditions and recurring incidents of rockfall, mudslide, and landslides along the Changtongya-Longleng National Highway-702. The advisory aims to ensure the safety of commuters and restrict the movement of heavy vehicles along the affected route.
Considering the hazardous conditions prevailing along the highway, the DC has mandated the prohibition of heavy vehicle traffic until further notice. However, light vehicles will be permitted to ply on the route between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. to minimize the risks associated with the ongoing weather-related incidents. However, it was informed that movement of light vehicles will be strictly restricted from 6:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M.
