Longleng, 27 September (MTNews): As TRIFED persists in its efforts to organize the “Marketing and Logistics Development for Promoting Tribal Products from the North Eastern Region” program, aimed at promoting tribal artisans and their creations throughout every district of Nagaland, the event found its official commencement today in Longleng.

Dharam Raj, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, inaugurated the event, which took place at the VDB hall in Longleng on 27 September 2023. This endeavor represents a collaborative partnership between TRIFED, Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), DUDA, and the District Administration of Longleng.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj said the goal of the event was to select the finest products and connect them to larger markets through TRIFED’s melas in Delhi and Guwahati. Raj also expressed his belief in the enormous potential for exporting these unique creations to the world and encouraged artisans to utilize the Prime Minister Van Dhan Yojana (PMVK) scheme for further support.

Nagedranath Jha, Senior Manager of TRIFED Delhi, highlighted the significance of this program, emphasizing the abundant talent among local artisans in Nagaland. He stressed that the only missing link was connectivity to the market and the need for skill enhancement, which this initiative aims to bridge.

Hongpe, Project Assistant from DUDA, reiterated the importance of empowering tribal artisans and connecting them with broader market avenues. He emphasized the potential of online marketing platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, which would be leveraged to promote tribal products.

The inauguration ceremony was led by Abhijeet Dutta, Joint Advisor (JA) TRIFED, with a welcome address from Bangjunglemba, EAC (P) Longleng. Asif Ekbal Hussain, Senior Program Executive of TRIFED Guwahati, expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of stakeholders and highlighted the promise of international training from the IIE in his closing remarks.

Around 110 tribal artisans from Longleng District actively participated in this program.
