Orangkong Baptist Attoi, Longleng commemorated its Platinum Jubilee from December 26 to 28, 2025, at the Jubilee Convention Hall under the theme “Jesus Christ, the Lord of History.” The speakers for the event were N Tialemba Phom, Executive Secretary of the Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA); Rev Dr Mar Pongener, General Secretary of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC); and Rev Dr L Anjo Keikung, former General Secretary of the NBCC.
The jubilee celebrations began with a flag-hoisting ceremony conducted by Rev Dr Mar Pongener, NBCC General Secretary. The unveiling of the jubilee monolith was carried out with prayers and blessings led by N Tialemba Phom, Executive Secretary, PBCA.
N Tialemba Phom, Rev Dr Mar Pongener, and Rev Dr L Anjo Keikung jointly dedicated and inaugurated the Jubilee Convention Hall, invoking God’s blessings. H Leisha Phom, Convener of the Jubilee Planning and Organizing Team, delivered the welcome address and expressed gratitude to the 55 Phom community churches and all participants for attending the Platinum Jubilee celebration.
Bukchem Phom, former Minister and former Chief Information Commissioner of Nagaland, spoke on the topic “Conflict and Peace in Orangkong Before and After 1950,” highlighting the transformation of the Naga people and Orangkong village towards peace. Rongsenmeren, Pastor of Changtongya Baptist Arogo, extended greetings and shared an account of the missionary work of Imnatsudong Ao, the first pastor of Orangkong Baptist Church.
Guest choirs from Changtongya Baptist Arogo and Longleng Town Baptist Church presented special songs during different sessions of the program.
The jubilee celebrations were further graced by the presence of A Pongshi Phom, MLA of 50 Assembly Constituency; Bangtick Phom, MLA of 49 Assembly Constituency; Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W Manpai Phom; Superintendent of Police, Longleng, Yanger Jamir; President of the Phom Gazetted Officers Association, Chaidok Phom; President of the Phom People’s Council, YB Angam; and other dignitaries.
As part of the Jubilee Convergence Program, Y Alongla Sangtam, NPS, Additional SP (Security), spoke on “Women in Leadership: Achieving an Equal Future,” organized by the OBA Women’s Ministry. B Henok Buchem, NCS, Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, spoke on “Youth in Leadership: Embracing Unique Gifts and Talents,” organized by the OBA Youth Ministry.
Prior to the main jubilee program, a thanksgiving service with Changtongya Baptist Church was held, beginning with the unveiling of a Mission Station monolith and a prayer at Chaujing Ling (morung), led by Rongsenmeren, Pastor of Changtongya Baptist Arogo.
The three-day Platinum Jubilee celebration of Orangkong Baptist Attoi concluded with a talent extravaganza.
