A two-day training on Community-Based Organization Governance and Leadership was conducted at Longmatra Block from August 27th to 28th, 2024, at the Block Office, Longmatra.

During the training, facilitated by resource persons from BMMU Longmatra, various topics were covered to enhance the effectiveness of community-based organizations. Horiba, AC IBCB, emphasized that robust organizations are capable of addressing their own developmental needs and influencing systemic changes crucial for sustainable development. The training underscored the importance of three pillars within organizations—Membership, Governance, and Operations—and their interconnectedness.

Kuramong, AC FI, elaborated on the rights and duties of members, governance, and operational aspects, while Rangchopila, AC SISD, discussed different types of leadership and effective meeting processes. She advocated for democratic leadership, highlighting its emphasis on inclusivity, team cohesion, and collective decision-making.

Atsope, BPM, explored the dynamics of organizational functioning using the analogy of a rocket. Drawing parallels between a well-designed rocket and a well-aligned organization, she emphasized how clarity in Vision, Mission, Operations, Strategies, and Action Plans (VMOSA) can propel an organization toward achieving significant outcomes.

The training began with an invocation by CLF EC Members and included a warm welcome and participant introductions facilitated by the BPM. Members of CLF under Longmatra Block and BMMU Longmatra staff actively participated in the program.
