Two Nagaland Super League (NSL) clubs, Longterok FC and Sechü Zubza FC, have officially lodged complaints with the league’s governing body over the last-minute rescheduling of their match.
In separate letters, both clubs criticized the decision to shift their crucial fixture, originally scheduled for 5:00 PM on March 19, to 2:00 PM at IG Stadium.
Longterok FC condemned the move as “unprofessional and disruptive,” citing logistical challenges and concerns over fairness. The club also questioned whether the change was made to benefit other teams and demanded an immediate and formal explanation.
Sechü Zubza FC echoed similar sentiments, pointing out that the AIFF guidelines require at least 48 hours’ notice for rescheduling matches. The club also alleged that the change was communicated unofficially via NSL’s social media instead of through formal channels. SZFC further argued that the decision affected their playoff chances and accused the governing body of undermining fair play and transparency.
Both clubs have urged the NSL to respond promptly, stating that such mismanagement damages the league’s credibility. The governing body is yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
The Nagaland Super League Governing Body announced the rescheduling of matches for Match Day 15 on March 18, affecting three key fixtures slated for March 19, 2025. The NSL Governing Body had stated in a press release that the rescheduling was made “in the interest of maintaining a competitive balance in the league, and to ensure level playing field, fair play and sportsmanship.”
