Former MP Lorho S Pfoze has been appointed as the new Manipur state president of the National People’s Party (NPP), marking a major organizational shift for the party. NPP national president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma confirmed the move through an official statement.

The announcement also elevated MLAs Thongam Shanti Singh, J Pamei, and Sheikh Noorul Hassan as working presidents.

Pfoze, who left the Naga People’s Front (NPF) earlier this year, joined the NPP in September in Shillong. His rapid elevation signals an effort by the party to reinforce its leadership and consolidate influence in Manipur, where the NPP currently holds six seats in the 60-member Assembly.
