The Lotha Doctors Forum (LDF) has issued a strong condemnation against Albert P Lotha for falsely posing as an MBBS doctor and illegally treating patients at a medical hall in Dimapur. In a sharply worded statement, the forum described the act as “a serious criminal offence” and “a blatant threat to public health and safety.”

The LDF confirmed after verification that Albert P Lotha is “not a qualified medical doctor, nor has he ever been affiliated with the Lotha Doctors Forum or its Dimapur unit.” The forum further clarified that “he holds no medical registration or professional license and has fraudulently misled patients into trusting him with their health.”

The statement also expressed grave concern over what it called Albert’s “deliberate misuse of the Lotha tribal identity.” According to the LDF, “Mr Albert’s father is of Bengali origin and is married to a Lotha woman. While we uphold the dignity of inter-community families, it is entirely unacceptable for Mr. Albert to misrepresent himself as a full-fledged member of the Lotha community for personal gain.”

By “falsely using the Lotha surname to cover his deceitful and illegal practices,” the forum said, Mr. Albert has “deeply dishonoured both the medical profession and the Lotha community.”

Terming the incident “a betrayal of public trust, a grave violation of medical ethics, and a disgraceful stain on our community’s name,” the LDF asserted that “such fraudulent impersonation cannot be taken lightly and must be met with strict and exemplary action.”

Calling for legal accountability, the forum urged the authorities to “initiate the strongest legal proceedings against Albert under all applicable section of laws and take urgent measures to prevent such impersonators from endangering public lives in the future.”

Reaffirming its stand, the LDF stated, “We reaffirm our commitment to upholding ethical medical practice, protecting the dignity of the Lotha community, and ensuring that such frauds are brought to justice without delay.”
