The Lotha Eloe Hoho on Tuesday expressed “profound shock, disappointment, and unequivocal condemnation” of the alleged physical assault committed by Professor Sarat Chandra Yenisetti against a female Assistant Professor within the premises of Nagaland University, Lumami.
“This reprehensible act is shameful, disrespectful, and a grave violation of professional ethics, representing a blatant display of misconduct,” Thungbeni Ngullie, President, Lotha Eloe Hoho said in a statement.
“We strongly denounce such behaviour, which undermines the safety, dignity, and well-being of women, students, and faculty members. Professor Sarat Chandra Yenisetti’s actions are abhorrent and unbecoming of someone entrusted with the role of shaping young minds,” the statement read.
If went on to say that his conduct renders him unfit to serve in an esteemed institution like Nagaland University—or any educational institution, for that matter. “His continued presence in the academic community poses a serious threat to the safety and security of women, students and faculty members.
In view of this grave incident, the Lotha Eloe Hoho demanded the immediate action against Professor Sarat Chandra Yenisetti by the Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University.
