Wokha, 3 June (MTNews): The Lotha Hoho (LH) officially launched its new constitution on 3 June at the Lotha Hoho Ki in Wokha. The constitution marks a significant milestone for the Lotha Hoho, which had been operating under a set of basic guidelines since 1990, with subsequent amendments in 1999.
Recognizing the need to adapt to the changing times and incorporate provisions that address the evolving needs of the community, the Lotha Hoho established a drafting committee to review and amend the existing guidelines. The committee worked diligently to expand and include more varied provisions, ensuring that the new constitution aligns with the advancements across all spheres of society.
During the launching and dedication ceremony, Reverend Abemo Jungio, Pastor of Wokha Town Baptist Church, offered a dedication prayer in the presence of Lotha Hoho members. The constitution was formally accepted by the general public during a general meeting held on May 10, 2023, at the Lotha Hoho Ki (Building) in Wokha.
