Longleng, 14 September: The Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, NCS, has issued a circular informing that, in view of a major landslide reported along the Changtongya-Longleng Road (NH-702) between Chainage 5+785 and 6+050, vehicular movement along the stretch has been completely obstructed.
In the interest of public safety and to facilitate traffic movement, commuters are advised to take the alternate route via Tangha-Kangching-Merangkong Road, which is presently motorable only for light vehicles, until further orders. Heavy vehicles are advised to refrain from using the alternate route.
Restoration and clearance operations are being undertaken on priority by the concerned authorities to restore normal connectivity at the earliest.
All commuters are requested to exercise due caution and strictly comply with the directions of the authorities and personnel deployed along the affected and alternate routes.
The advisory shall remain in force until further orders.
