Changtongya, 19 June (MTNews): A significant rockslide occurred between the areas of Changtongya and Dikhu Bridge, resulting in the blockage of the main road. The news has been confirmed by the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD), National Highway Division, Mokokchung.
The Executive Engineer revealed that the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) have initiated efforts to clear the obstructed road. He further informed that the affected portion stretches from a distance of 1.650 to 1.750 kilometers.
Expressing the urgency to restore the passage, the engineer emphasized that the authorities are working diligently to remove the debris at the earliest. He also added that due to the nature of the task at hand, the use of heavy machinery has been deemed necessary.
