Mokokchung, 13 September (MTNews): Expressing strong resentment towards the prevailing dilapidated condition of roads within Mokokchung district, the Ao Senden and Mokokchung town ward executives have asked the concerned authorities to make the roads motorable within 5 days. They further stated that if their demands are not fulfilled, they will initiate a democratic agitation, and that the concerned contractor and supervising agency will be held responsible for any untoward incident.
This was conveyed during a coordination meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, NCS, on 12 September 2023 with NHIDCL, PWD (NH), PWD (R&B), Ao Senden, and All Ward Union Mokokchung Town representatives as earlier reported by this newspaper.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung expressed the opinion that since the district serves as the nerve center for the entire neighboring districts, it is imperative that the road should be an all-weather road and remain motorable throughout the year.
