Mangkolemba, 3 June (MTNews): The Mangkolemba Sub-divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) convened its monthly meeting on 2nd June at the Customary Law Court, ADC Office Complex, Mangkolemba. The meeting was presided over by T Lankosen Tsanglao, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Vice Chairman of SDPDB Mangkolemba.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Temjen Imna Along, the Minister for Tourism & Higher Education and Chairman of SDPDB Mangkolemba, and Temjenmenba, the Advisor for Transport & Technical Education.
One of the key topics deliberated upon was the upgradation of Primary Health Centers (PHCs) to Community Health Centers (CHCs) in Longchem and Tsurangkong. Additionally, the board considered proposals for upgrading Government High Schools (GHS) to Government Higher Secondary Schools (GHSS) in both Longchem and Tsurangkong.
Infrastructure development also featured prominently in the discussions. The SDPDB members addressed the construction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) quarter at Longchem, as well as the establishment of a Supply Godown at Merangmen.
The meeting also focused on administrative matters, including the upgradation of the Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) post to Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) at Longchem.
Addressing the need for better security and facilities, the board discussed the request for assistance in constructing fencing and a boundary wall at CHC Mangkolemba, as well as the establishment of a Sub Fire Station in the region.
The meeting also addressed the repair and renovation of the Dobashi Customary Court in Longchem. In addition, the SDPDB considered the construction of a new Border Magistrate quarter in Tsurangkong.
Furthermore, the board took into account the requirements of additional personnel in the form of a Planning Officer and Tourist Officer. Lastly, the issue of a shortage of teachers resulting from the transfer of government teachers under the Tsurangkong range was also brought to the attention of the SDPDB.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Along highlighted the importance of the SDPDB Mangkolemba as an independent planning board and encouraged active involvement from Village Council members, Village Development Boards (VDBs) of the three ranges, and Heads of Offices (HoOs) from various departments. He urged them to express their concerns and present agendas aimed at uplifting the subdivision.
Advisor Temjenmenba also addressed the meeting and reiterated the importance of the HoOs in executing their assigned duties with utmost dedication. He emphasized the need for proactive engagement from the HoOs, emphasizing their pivotal role in driving progress and implementing developmental initiatives in their respective departments.
During the meeting, presentations were made by the Block Development Officers (BDOs) of Mangkolemba, Longchem, and Tsurangkong, as well as the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Water Resources, Mangkolemba.
