No response received from CM, local MLA/Advisor, says CSO; shops and vehicular movement to remain restricted on Oct 3
The Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Mangkolemba has called a public general meeting on October 3 over the ongoing Multipurpose Hall issue, after its 20-day ultimatum to the Chief Minister and the local MLA and Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports expired without a response, according to the organisation.
The meeting will be held at Mangkolemba Public Ground, Nokyu Ward. The decision was taken at the CSO executive meeting on September 28.
The CSO had issued the ultimatum to the Chief Minister and the MLA/Advisor through Global Window on September 7, giving the authorities 20 days to respond to the Multipurpose Hall issue. The deadline expired on September 27.
In its communication to the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mangkolemba, the CSO said no response had been received from the concerned authorities.
The organisation has therefore decided to convene the public meeting to take up the matter with the public.
As part of the arrangements for the meeting, the CSO said vehicular movement and shops would remain restricted from 6 am on October 3 until the conclusion of the meeting.
Administration, police, medical and other emergency services, along with educational institutions, have been exempted from the restrictions.
The CSO has informed the ADC for necessary coordination with the administration.
The organisation has not indicated in the letter what further course of action will be taken following the public meeting.
