The Eastern Command of the Naga Village Guard (NVG) has issued a directive calling for strict enforcement of the Tangkhul Naga Long’s decision to sever civic and economic ties with the Kuki community, warning of punitive action against those found violating the declaration.

In a directive issued on July 2, the NVG said the order was issued in pursuance of the Tangkhul Naga Long’s declaration of February 25, 2026, and would take immediate effect.

The organisation alleged that it had received information indicating that certain individuals from both the Naga and non-Naga communities were collaborating with Kukis in areas under the jurisdictions of Ukhrul, Kamjong and Saikul.

Claiming that such activities violated the Tangkhul Naga Long’s declaration, the NVG said it would no longer tolerate such collaboration and warned that punitive measures would be initiated against those found defying the directive.
