Mokokchung, 7 May (MTNews): The Mao Union Senapati served refreshment to the people of Nagaland at Senapati on Sunday who were evacuated from Manipur amid violent clashes.

An update received here said, “There were about 1000 people in around 30 vehicles, mostly buses which were accompanied by army escorts arranged by the Government of Nagaland.”

“Realizing the situations and hardship which the people especially the students and children must have been going through, the Mao Union Senapati together with the women and youth of around 200 people gathered at Senapati around 6:00 to give moral support and arrange this refreshment and also to wish them all a safe journey to their home,” the update said.

“Arrangements for food for the mission team were prepared through courtesy of Manipur Baptist Convention Centre Imphal by Rev K Losu, Executive Secretary MBC but due to the security protocols it could not be materialized,” it regretted.

Just around the bend of ‘Marty Memorial’ between Tadubi and Mao Gate, the volunteers of Mao Students Union (MSU) and Mao Naga Women’s Welfare Association (MNWWA) received the evacuees of the ‘Rescue Mission’ and offered refreshments (food packages) to ease their travel towards home to safety.

“Thanks to all who joined hands and initiated the positive energy to undertake the common humanitarian effort…” it added.

  6. Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with? I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a difficult time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
