As announced by the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, a district-wide mass social work was conducted across Mokokchung district on Saturday, June 14, to enhance monsoon preparedness.
Seen in the pictures are community members of Arkong Ward in Mokokchung clearing clogged drains and repairing a pothole-ridden road, which had remained one of the most deteriorated in the town. The potholes were patched with concrete by the community, and the road will remain closed until the concrete is cured. All departments, offices, business establishments, institutions, and members of the public participated in the mass social work by clearing waterlogged areas, unclogging drains blocked by plastic waste and debris, and removing overgrowth in their surroundings and on roads leading to colonies, towns, and villages.
