Mokokchung, March 3 (MTNews): Day 4 of the 6th Master Shield Trophy 2022 organized by the Mokokchung District T20 Cricket Federation (MDT20CF) at Assam Rifle Ground, Mokokchung witnessed Rangers XI Cricket Club take on Skylark Cricket Club and Titans Cricket Club go up against Trebuchet Cricket Club.
Rangers XI CC and Skylark CC played the first match of the day where Rangers XI won the toss and elected to bat first. Rangers knocked an imposing total of 183 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs with half century contribution of 73 runs from Bideshi and 30 runs from Moa. Meanwhile, Talikaba and Aloto collected 1 wicket each for the Skylark side during the first inning.
Talikaba and Sentizulu led the run chase for the Skylark side, posting 21 and 12 runs respectively, the team lacked behind in contributing to the total score ending their inning with 96 runs all out in 20 overs. Rangers Saurav and Temjenmeren played a vital role during the early dismissals of the Skylark side in the second inning collecting 3 wickets each. Rangers Bideshi was declared the Man of the Match as Rangers XI won the match by a huge margin of 87 runs.
The second match of the day witnessed a one sided game between winner of recently concluded 30th MDCA Tournament and Title defenders, Titans CC go up against Trebuchet CC. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Titans Imnatoshi and Toshimeren contributed 29 and19 runs respectively but were unable to give a scare to the Trebuchet side as the match ended with a total of just 96 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs . Meanwhile, Chubaodang and Wapangtoshi showed versatility collecting 3 and 2 wickets respectively for the Trebuchet side.
Trebuchets Menchet and Avenash led the run chase posting 33 and 17 runs respectively, with vital contributions from the players , the Trebuchet side managed to end the match short in 16 overs with 97 runs on the board. Sentiwapang and Ato’s collection of 2 and 1 wicket for the Titans side could not overpower the firing rate as Trebuchet won the match by 6 wickets and Chubaodang was declared Man of the Match from Trebuchet.
