Budding writers and aspiring journalists will get the chance to hone their skills at storytelling at a masterclass on narrative non-fiction in Chümoukedima in June.

 

The five-day hands-on mentorship programme will be conducted by well-known author and investigative journalist Subir Ghosh.

 

The event will be held at The White Owl in Chümoukedima, Nagaland from June 6-10. The last date for applying is June 1. Early bird discounts will be given till May 22.

 

Narrative nonfiction, among other definitions, is a specialised form of journalistic storytelling. The five-day event will include extensive field work, and exhaustive reference materials would be provided to all participants.

About the mentor: Subir is a Kolkata-based journalist-writer-researcher who writes about environment, corruption, crony capitalism, conflict, wildlife, and cinema. He has written extensively on the Northeast, particularly Nagaland, in the past. In mainstream media, he has worked with the Press Trust of India (PTI), the Telegraph, and the Daily News and Analysis (DNA). He writes, edits, reports and designs. He is also a professionally trained and qualified photographer.
