During the inaugural ceremony of the Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary Block building, today in Kohima, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor of School Education and SCERT disclosed that the department is currently in the process of recruiting 138 Mathematics and Science teachers to bolster educational standards across the state.

Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, established in 1941 and celebrating 75 years of service, was lauded by Dr Yhome as a pioneer among government high schools in Nagaland. He urged the school to set an exemplary standard for others and encouraged teachers to dedicate themselves fully to shaping young minds.
With 1939 schools distributed statewide, Dr Yhome underscored the government’s commitment to providing free education in both rural and urban areas. He noted that the number of Government Higher Secondary Schools has increased to 53 and emphasized plans for further expansion in the future.
Highlighting specific school developments, Dr Yhome mentioned the upgrade of Mon Higher Secondary School and expressed concerns about the deteriorating condition of Wakching High School’s old building, constructed in 1953.
Addressing broader challenges, Dr Yhome expressed dismay over instances of land encroachment affecting educational institutions, including Nagaland University and called for collective efforts to safeguard educational infrastructure across the state.
