Mokokchung, 1 May (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS while delivering his greetings at the Moatsü celebration organized by Ao Senden today wished that God pour his blessings to the people and lead them to greater heights and that the festival be a time of rejuvenation, both physically and spiritually.

Singh said that Moatsü signifies “people beckoning God’s presence so that their hard work is rewarded and accepted in the form of a bountiful harvest.”

 

Saying that Moatsü is a time of rejuvenation, recreation, and seeking the blessings of God after days of hard labour, Singh added that it is also a time to cement a relationship with fellow tribesmen, neighbours, and other tribes to establish peace and harmony.

 

He went on to say that during almost 3 years of his stay in Mokokchung, he has been fortunate enough to experience the hospitality of the people of the district.

 

“The Aos are known for their pioneering works in the fields of education, politics, and religion. On this auspicious festival, I bestow my blessings on the people of the Mokokchung district. May we continue to work hard, live a life of dignity and humility, and proudly proclaim our rich cultural heritage,” he greeted.
