MCCI explores SIDBI support for Mokokchung entrepreneurs
MCCI Assistant Finance Secretary Ashok Jagtiani at the second National Conclave of Industry Associations organised by SIDBI in New Delhi on October 12.

The conclave brought together around 120 business and industry associations from across the country under SIDBI’s Development of Industry Associations (DIA) initiative, which aims to strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), industrial clusters and industry associations.

The initiative seeks to develop local industrial clusters into globally competitive innovation hubs and help industry associations become self-sustaining, revenue-generating organisations.

The day-long conclave featured discussions on the launch of MacFin Mart, an online marketplace for industrial machinery, SIDBI financing schemes to support machinery purchases, and the adoption of artificial intelligence in industries. Expert panels discussed various topics, followed by question-and-answer sessions with delegates.

During the conclave, Jagtiani interacted with Banajit Huzuri, Field Manager of the SIDBI DIA Programme for the Northeast Region, and briefed him on the aspirations of entrepreneurs in Mokokchung and the need for a suitable platform to help them turn their business ideas into reality.

Huzuri expressed interest in visiting Mokokchung after the upcoming Puja holidays to interact with local entrepreneurs. The proposed visit is tentatively expected to take place in November.

The engagement could provide local entrepreneurs an opportunity to learn about institutional support, financing schemes and other avenues to strengthen their businesses.

MCCI said Jagtiani’s participation in the conclave was facilitated by its leadership as part of efforts to explore opportunities that could benefit the business community and the district.
