The 27th edition of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) Trophy will be held from October 14 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex. A total of eleven teams will participate in what is touted as one of the most competitive tournaments in recent years.
The tournament will feature 10 league matches and 7 knockout matches. The teams are divided into four groups, with three teams each in the first three groups and two teams in the last group.
Matches will be played in both league and knockout formats, with the final scheduled for October 25. The fixtures for the tournament were drawn on October 6 at the MDFA Treasurer’s residence.
Konyak Students’ Union Mokokchung are the defending champions of the tournament.
H Sethrongkyu Sangtam, MLA and Advisor for IT & Communication, Economics & Statistics, and Evaluation, Government of Nagaland, will be the chief guest at the inaugural event.
