Telongjem FC through to semifinals with 4-0 win over SSS

Telongjem FC displayed aggression and hunger from the start, eager to find the back of the net. Tarepnungsang emerged as the star, securing a brace with goals in the 5th and 49th minutes, the first expertly assisted by Lunaldo, who was outstanding throughout the match. Thejasetuo Gwirie was phenomenal on the left flank, scoring in the 30th minute and consistently creating chances with a great combination with Lunaldo.” Bapenyimjong and Singdoulien Khongsai impressed in midfield, controlling the tempo and providing creativity. Vitoho Kiho added another goal in the 60th minute, rounding off a commanding performance for Telongjem FC.

Chargers FC crush Thunderbolt 7-0; Longkhoi becomes first hat-trick hero of the tournament

Chargers FC had a fascinating game against a young and spirited Thunderbolt FC side. Despite Thunderbolt FC’s best efforts, Chargers proved superior with relentless attacking play. Takotuba opened the scoring in the 5th minute, followed by Longkhoi in the 11th minute. Yangersosang scored in the 31st minute, before Longkhoi struck again in the 68th minute and completed a hat-trick – the first in the tournament. Osen (71st minute) and Tongpangnokdang (75th minute) also found the net, sealing a commanding victory. Longkhoi was outstanding, his movement, positioning, and finishing making him the standout performer of the match.

Both games highlighted aggressive attacking, precise link-ups, and well-executed goals.

Chargers FC pressed high and dominated play as Thunderbolt FC (in yellow) were left reeling in a 7-0 rout during the MDFA Trophy 2025 fourth quarterfinal.

Chargers’ striker Longkhoi is now the leading goal scorer, with a tally of five goals in two matches. The import from Noklak is paying dividends for Chargers FC, having scored five of the team’s nine goals, including the tournament’s first hat-trick.

The last four teams remaining in the tournament feature a mix of local homegrown talents and some of Nagaland’s top-ranked players. Super Seniors FC, comprising some of the most senior and seasoned players from Mokokchung, will face Doyang Strikers in the first semifinal. While Super Seniors FC has a pool of highly experienced players, Doyang Strikers field some of the current top talents in Nagaland football.

In the second semifinal, Telongjem FC, which predominantly features outstation players and some of the biggest names in Nagaland football, will take on Chargers FC, a team mostly comprised of Mokokchung-based players with a few imports. Telongjem FC are in pursuit of a record fourth title, while Chargers FC are debutants in the tournament.
