MDTA to organize Taekwondo Tournament on 15 July

Mokokchung, 9 July (MTNews): The Mokokchung District Taekwondo Association (MDTA) will be organizing a district level Under-14 Taekwondo Tournament on 15 July at Ladybird School, Mokokchung. This tournament is being organized in pursuance of the Department of YR&S Annual Calendar of Activities under the Catch Them Young initiative, MDTA informed in a press release.

The tournament will be held for both boys and girls under different weight categories. Prize money and certificates will also be presented to the winners of the tournament.

During the tournament, the MDTA will select players to represent the district in the upcoming State Level Under-14 Taekwondo Tournament to be held at IG Stadium on 20 and 21 July.

“Therefore, the Association earnestly appeals to the parents and different schools to encourage their wards (taekwondo players) to participate in the tournament as it would open new avenues for them,” MTDA appealed.

Under-14 Taekwondo Tournament organized by MDTA will be played in the following weight categories:

Boys                                                                                              

1. 27 kg
2. 27-32 kg
3. 32-42 kg
4. 37-42 kg
5. 42 – 47 kg
6. 47 – 52 kg

Girls

1. 28 kg
2. 28-33 kg
3. 33-38 kg
4. 38-43 kg
