Mokokchung, 3 July (MTNews): In a significant development aimed at enhancing the availability of petroleum products in Nagaland, M Chuba Ao, Chairman of MARCOFED (Marketing Cooperative Federation) and National Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and In-charge of BJP Meghalaya, held a meeting with Mohit Dhawan, General Manager of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, at his residence today, 3 July.
The primary focus of the discussion was to explore avenues to strengthen the collaboration between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and MARCOFED to open more petrol and diesel outlets across Nagaland.
This meeting comes at a time when the efforts to boost the petrochemicals sector in the entire Northeast region, including Assam, have gained recognition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today applauded the initiative to export the first consignment of methanol to Bangladesh from the Assam Petrochemical Plant, acknowledging the role of Assam in becoming a major exporter of petrochemicals. In response to a tweet by Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Prime Minister tweeted, “This will boost the petrochemicals sector in Assam and the entire Northeast.”
Taking to Twitter, M Chuba Ao shared the news of the meeting, stating, “Today, Shri Mohit Dhawan ji, General Manager Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, visited my house where we discussed how we can further strengthen our tie-up with MARCOFED to open more petrol diesel outlets in Nagaland.” This demonstrates the commitment of both parties to collaborate and expand the network of petrol and diesel outlets in the state.
