In a strongly worded ultimatum addressed to the Executive Director of NHIDCL Kohima, the Joint Village Council under the Meluri Area Public Organisation (MAPO) has expressed frustration over the lack of progress on the two-laning road construction project in the region. The letter was routed through the Station In-Charge Camp, Meluri.
Despite “several spot verifications jointly made along with officials of NHIDCL, KKB Rulho Pvt. Ltd., and Village Council Leaders of Meluri Area,” the Council noted that “no positive steps were taken and remains to be neglected with machineries been moved out from the site.”
In response to what they described as continued negligence and unfulfilled assurances, the Council issued a stern warning. “You are ought to take moral responsibilities and for which no vehicles, machineries and officials of NHIDCL and KKB Rulho will be allowed to ply along the neglected road if no positive actions are taken within 5 (five) days i.e. on or before the 16th of May 2025,” the letter stated.
