The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced a significant decision to reserve 10% of vacancies for recruitment in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles for Agniveers. This decision marks the completion of four years under the Agnipath Scheme, initiated by the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a series of tweets, the Home Minister’s Office confirmed the development, stating, “The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) decides to reserve 10% vacancies for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles for Agniveers, completing four years under the Agnipath Scheme announced by the Government of India, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.”

Additionally, the MHA has announced age relaxations for Agniveers beyond the prescribed upper age limit. Agniveers will receive a three-year age relaxation for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles. For the first batch of Agniveers, the age relaxation will be extended to five years beyond the prescribed upper age limit.
