The three-member committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs to study the demand of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) for a separate ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state, who arrived at Tuensang on December 16, has left for Kohima this morning.

Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) president Tsapikyu Sangtam confirmed to Mokokchung Times that the central team led by MHA adviser for the northeast, AK Mishra, left for Kohima on Sunday morning around 10:00 AM

He also stated that the MHA team had gone to Pangsha “on their own” before leaving for Kohima. ENPO as well as various tribal hoho leaders and stakeholders held meetings with the visiting MHA team during their 3-day visit.

“The meeting was a success. Let’s see how it goes,” the ENPO president said, describing how he believes the meeting went.

In response to whether the MHA committee had said anything about the meeting, Sangtam stated that they had yet to put anything on paper and informed that they would share it through a press release in a few days’ time.

Regarding the ENPO resolution for non-participation in elections, he stated that the matter will be discussed at their meeting on Monday and a decision will be made. The ENPO had earlier informed that its CEC will hold a meeting on December 19 from 10 am onwards at CKS Hall, Tuensang after the MHA team’s visit.
