The three-day Midland Youth Sports Meet 2026 concluded on Friday at Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Kohima, under the theme, “Promoting Unity, Fellowship and Sportsmanship through Sports.”
In the basketball competition, Team Mustang emerged champions, while Team Hawks finished runners-up. The Midland Youth Organization (MYO) officials’ team won the men’s penalty shootout event, and Sleek Sparks claimed the women’s penalty shootout title.
Kelesizo Sote was named the Most Valuable Player, while Teisovilhou Vimero received the Best Goalkeeper award.
Midland Council Chairman Menuokholie Kire attended the closing ceremony as the guest of honour and presented prizes to the winners.
The programme was chaired by MYO Women Coordinator Keviphono Ngukha. The invocation was offered by Jack Thapa, Pastor of Nepali Baptist Church, while the vote of thanks was delivered by MYO President Ako Koso (Madi).
