Kohima, 5 October (MTNews): Nagaland Minister for PHED (Public Health Engineering Department) and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi, conducted an inspection of the new Cooperation Department Directorate Building located at Pheregei in Meriema, Kohima on 5 October. The construction of this building, which commenced in 2012, is still in progress.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of Cooperation Department officials, NPWD (Nagaland Public Works Department) engineers, and contractors. Minister Zhimomi assessed the status of the ongoing construction work, which is approaching completion and issued directives to the relevant agencies and the contracting firm, M/s Vilelie Khamo, urging them to expedite the construction process. He emphasized the need for the building to be ready for inauguration by November 2023, considering the significant delays that have occurred.
During the inspection, the Minister was briefed on outstanding liabilities amounting to Rs 872 lakhs that must be settled to finalize the building project. He instructed NPWD engineers to provide active and personal supervision to ensure the timely completion of the construction. Following the inspection, the Minister also addressed various related issues and concerns.
