Nagaland Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, KG Kenye, highlighted the potential of inland water transport in the landlocked state of Nagaland, citing its proximity to Myanmar and the need for connectivity. Kenye addressed the inaugural meeting of the first-ever Inland Waterways Development Council in Kolkata on Monday, chaired by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping & Waterways, and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal.

During the meeting, Minister Kenye underscored the significance of the Central Government’s Look East Policy and urged the Ministry to fast-track the implementation of the long-pending National Waterways 101 Tizu to Zungki project. He also proposed conducting Techno Economic feasibility studies for National Waterways 31 Dhansari to facilitate cargo and traffic movement, along with promoting water tourism at the Doyang reservoir dam.

Accompanied by officials from the state government and the transport department, Minister Kenye led a Nagaland delegation to the event. The meeting, held aboard the Cruise Vessel Ganges Queen on January 8, brought together officials from different states and union territories.

In his address, Minister Kenye highlighted the necessity of inland water transport for Nagaland, given its landlocked nature and strategic proximity to Myanmar. He stressed the urgency of advancing key projects under the Look East Policy to enhance connectivity and trade opportunities.

Apart from Minister Kenye, the Nagaland delegation included Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi IAS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Sentiwapang Aier NCS, Additional Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Myingthungo Ababe Ezung OST Transport, and Thomas Y Kiutsangmong DGM NST officials from the Transport Department.

I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
