Mokokchung, July 9 (MTNews): Temjen Imna Along, the Nagaland minister for higher education and tribal affairs, was seen making fun of the racial epithet “small eyes” that is frequently used to describe people from northeast India in a brief video clip provided by journalist Abhishek Lohia of AajTak.
Social media users have praised the humor of the BJP lawmaker and the state party president after the video went viral.

 

In response to the prevalent assumption that people from the northeast have small eyes, Temjen Imna Along stated that while people from the northeast do have small eyes, their vision is sharp.

The BJP politician stated during an event, that having smaller eyes has numerous advantages.

“Because of smaller eyes we don’t get much dirt inside the eyes. And we can easily sleep when some long program is going on,” the minister said amid thunderous applause in the video.
