Kohima, October 31 (MTNews): Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along while speaking as a special guest on Monday said that the problem with the Naga society now is the dependence on Government jobs alone.
He said this during a Photo Exhibition & Artificial Intelligence (AI) display program organized by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Kohima in collaboration with St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School in commemoration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 8 Years of Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan.
The Minister also urged the students to take advantage of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 adding that the government is looking forward to making India a “global knowledge superpower” which can be achieved only by making the education system for schools and colleges more flexible, holistic, and multi-disciplinary which will bring out their unique capabilities.
The Minster further encouraged the students to break the dependency on Government jobs and seek out and create other opportunities.
He also asked the students to concentrate on their education but at the same time refine other skills and interests that they have simultaneously.
“Nagaland should be a land of entrepreneurs,” he stated.
The Minister during his speech also highlighted how through the ‘Eight Years of Seva, Sushasan & Garib Kalyan’, the Prime Minister’s vision is to empower the poor and the helpless of the country, and claimed that Nagaland as a State is also enjoying the benefits of this policy.
He further thanked the Ministry of Broadcasting for allowing the young minds and the citizens of the State to know the “good governance and strategy of the GoI”.
He mentioned that India, during the pandemic, was one of the first to help different developing countries and claimed that within these 8 years it has uplifted many other nations in the world.
The Minister reminded the children to ask God’s wisdom as they grow in their lives and advised them to chart their destiny through sincere efforts and commitment to their ambitions.
The Minister later felicitated the winners of the competition on the theme, “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
Principal Director, School Education Department, Thavaseelan K, IAS, thanked the organizers for bringing together the unique concept of the exhibition and AI Display. He mentioned how the setting up of AI in schools is fundamentally changing the way students and teachers understand and assimilate information in today’s world.
AI has immense potential to transform any field of human nature to sustain human life. Artificial Intelligence in education has the potential to be a game-changer for every child, he said.
At the photo Exhibition, the Principal Director asked the students present to access information and consume knowledge through the photos since photos transcend time.
“It bridges generations. It is essential to get into the world of photography because it gives a perspective to look into the future and also to look at how the country has progressed,” he said.
