The body of fisherman Ezanthung Odyuo, in his late forties and a resident of New Riphyim, who had been missing since February 26, was recovered from the Doyang River on Saturday evening. The body was found near the UBC Doyang Cemetery, about 100 metres from his fishing net.
Search operations were launched by the SDRF Wokha unit on February 28 and were joined by an NDRF team on Saturday, deploying 29 personnel, two boats, and three deep divers. The body was recovered following underwater search operations. Officials said the body had been trapped under a stone and will be handed over to the family for last rites.
