Soyimkumba, a police personnel of Tuensang DEF who went missing from his home on July 11, was found dead today at a farmhouse in New Tuensang Village. According to police sources, he is suspected to have died by suicide through hanging. However, the police have not ruled out the possibility of foul play, stating that the body was decomposed and conclusive evidence is still pending.
A post-mortem examination was conducted today, and the results are awaited. Suyimkumba’s body was brought to Ungma village, Mokokchung, tonight.
Soyimkumba was noted to be absent from his duties, prompting an inquiry. His wife reported that he had been missing from home since July 11. A missing person’s report was officially filed on July 13, according to a police official speaking to the Mokokchung Times.
Efforts to locate him included a review of CCTV footage, but no leads were found. On July 19, a search operation led by Chang Union (Yongpang sector) resulted in the discovery of his body.
Soyimkumba is survived by his wife and children, who reside in Tuensang, the police source confirmed. The investigation is ongoing as authorities await conclusive evidence from the post-mortem examination.
